Reconstruction Period

Members and Shifu had a talk about how to make Zen Club more balanced and to have structure in order for us to promote zen. This led to the idea of us advertising zen differently, as well as having members stay. To do this, we need to rethink the way zen club is run to make it best fit the goal we want for the club. Promoting a sustainable lifestyle for college students will be our priority, but we must first build our "company" before we sell our "product."  We will be reaching out to previous members and recruiting those who are interested in propagating zen club to help us. This turning point of zen club is very exciting because change is imminent.

Tea Time

On Oct. 27, 2014, advisor Diana treated the club members to tea at Amor’s on San Fernando. We discussed the meaning of Zen and how we can benefit from it. Zen members shared the daily struggles of college student life: keeping track of school work, dealing with judgments, taking initiative to study without homework, finding a job, and finding balance as well as focus. Diana shared that Zen is very helpful in our daily lives, whether it be calming down for a test, staying organized, or dealing with arguments, Zen is a habitual state of mind that will keep us centered through these times. We proposed topics for the upcoming meetings to work on so that Zen members to gain wisdom. Some of the topics include: how to deal with stress, how to be confident, how to deal with anger and so on. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting!
